Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at t.a.c.ocatrescueluton@hotmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Kitten's can be neutered at around four months old. This is because female cats become sexually mature and can start producing kittens at 6 months, so will fall pregnant at 4 month., so to prevent any unwanted litters it is very important to get them neutered as soon as possible.

We always say get the female done first, as a male is still fertile for 8 weeks after castration.

Cats are not selective and will mate with any other cat if the opportunity presents itself, this include relatives

Female cat can go into heat as young as 4 months of age.

 Not at all.

There is no benefit to letting your female cat have a litter of kittens before you get her neutered. Because female cats reach sexual maturity so young, it may even be harmful to let them have a litter of kittens, especially while they are still kittens themselves.

Not at all, we assess all our cats, there will be certain cats than can not go with children.

Yes you can, if your unhappy with anything please ask for a second opinion.

Yes, however if they have already had access to the outdoors, we will not home as an indoor only.

Unless it is injured please leave it alone, as cats will wonder. If it is still there after 24 hour then take it to the vets or call scan angels to chip check the cat to find an owner.

This isn’t something that rescues can routinely help with. In some cases, we may be able to recommend a more affordable vet or contribute a small amount toward the cost, but ultimately, these expenses are the owner’s responsibility.

We strongly believe that all cat owners should take out pet insurance to help cover unexpected veterinary bills and ensure their cat receives the care they need when they need it.

we recommend Agria, or another one that offers life time cover
